Rest-coast presented at cop14 in Geneva among the most important restoration projects in the EU

The REST-COAST project of which MEDSEA is a partner was presented at the last COP14 in Geneva, the 14th meeting of the Conference of the contracting parties of the Ramsar Convention on wetlands, from 5 to 13 November 2022.

REST-COAST was selected as one of the most relevant projects on the topic of restoration at European level and presented during the collateral event "Exploiting the potential of wetlands to tackle Climate Change and biodiversity loss". Among the objectives of REST-COAST is to contribute to influencing the financing and policies of large-scale restoration projects, with the aim of "improving the continuum of river-delta-estuary-coast-sea interventions".

The Horizon 2020 project for the large-scale restoration of coastal ecosystems from rivers to the sea thanks to a systemic approach based on an adaptation plan, involves 37 partners from 11 countries and 9 pilot sites, including the Venice Lagoon.
